Julian Prégardien takes the audience on a journey on foot through the wintry city centre. Short concerts will be heard in different locations, interlocking like the chapters of a story – until the whole story unfolds at the Casals Forum in Kronberg. The central idea is a »contemporary Winterreise«: a homage to Schubert, but also a repositioning within our current time. To this end, composers of different generations have created new works. The texts set to music interweave historical voices with current reflections, connecting the Romantic era with our own time. This format, oscillating between public urban space and the concert hall, represents movement, collective journeys, the alternating »intermedium« between individual and group. A unique journey that reveals itself over the course of its various stations, setting the audience in motion – an urban experience and an open dialogue with the present.
Start: 14:15 Nebbienschen Gartenhaus
Finish: ca. 17:00 MOMEM (Hauptwache). When booking the combined ticket, this is also the departure point for the S 4 train to the evening concert in Kronberg.
No box office for the promenade concert!
The restaurant at the Vienna House Hotel in Kronberg (right next to the Casals Forum) will be open between 18:00 and 19:45 for a wintery dinner before the concert.
