The finale of cresc… 2024 is dedicated to the young generation. As part of the International Composer & Conductor Seminars (ICCS) young_professionals, five rising young composers have been chosen after a worldwide open call, and invited to use the festival’s theme, STRING FIGURES, as their source of inspiration. Over a period of several months and working sessions, together with Ensemble Modern and renowned coaches, they have developed their new works. The results include ensemble pieces, lighting interactions, real and fictitious spaces, as well as collective places for encounters in the open-source universe, all of them to have their world premieres on this evening. The concert will be led by young conductors participating in the ICCS young artist programme. A dramaturgical documentation of the working process flanks the world premieres of the works, offering insights into their genesis.
