cresc... 2O22 becomes cresc... 2O23
In view of the current pandemic situation, Ensemble Modern and the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra have been forced to postpone the 2022 cresc... Biennial for Current Music to next year. cresc... 2023 will take place between February 17 and 26, 2023 In Frankfurt, Offenbach and Darmstadt. The Festival theme ›MeWe‹ and all programmes remain unchanged.
»Unfortunately, our hope for an improvement of the pandemic situation and less restrictive measures at this point in time has not come true. Therefore, several performance locations are currently not viable. By postponing the Biennial to the next year, we hope that the festival's theme, ›MeWe‹, which explores the relationship between individual and community, will then be accessible to a broader audience«, says Michael Traub, the Hessian Radio's director of music and orchestra manager. Christian Fausch, Ensemble Modern's artistic manager and managing director, emphasizes: »We came up with a diverse and well-balanced programme for the Biennial, and our audience should be able to experience it in its entirety. At this point, only two of the five festival days could have taken place as planned, pulverizing the overall dramaturgical concept. We thank all those involved, first and foremost the Kulturfonds Frankfurt RheinMain and the other sponsors of the Biennial, for their willingness to support this decision.«
